Village Hall floor restored in Worcestershire

Mathon Village Hall floor restored

This old Victorian pine floor has stood the test of time and was still structurally sound however quite a few of the boards were splintering and had holes and gaps causing injury to the users of the hall . We met with Tom the Chairman of the hall to discuss the repairs required and produced a full rectification specification for the repair and renewal of areas of the floor. With budgets in mind - often a concern for community halls -we recommended replacing the Victorian boards with new pine boards which we would treat with a mix of different stains to closely resemble the original boards ;our final 'after' photo shows the floor repaired ,sanded and coated with hard wearing laquers .

The users of the Hall commented how nice the floor looks now and were pleased to be avoiding the injuries caused from the pre existing floor!

Before - Boards replaced - at this point there is a stark contrast as the old wood meets the new !

After completion , boards repaired, new boards carefully stained and now blending in nicely ,finally  sanded and laquered .

Many years of service to come !
