Parquet floor replaced in Hereford
Parquet floor in Hereford fully replaced
This 1940's parquet floor was extremely damp and rotting under a thick rubber underlay and carpet ; the blocks turned to dust and disintegrated when lifted ; normally we would restore sections of the floor but in this case it was quite obvious that we should discard the entire floor; the underfloor also had severe damp issues and it was important to take these factors into account before we recommended the neccessary remedial actions.
Before
Probaly the worst condition parquet floor that we have ever seen! .
After removal of blocks we installed a new concrete floor and subequently damp proofed by us using specialist liquid damp proof compounds.
After full completion
The new parquet blocks fitted and finally sanded and finished with a matt finish laquer; also installation of the doorway inset matwell with oak frame.
